A rare early 20th century Danish sterling silver comport or compote, Copenhagen 1927 designed by Johan Rohde for Georg Jensen, import marks for London 1927 by George Stockwell

Of dished circular form upon a moulded stem leading to a spreading circular foot. The baluster stem with spiralling beaded decoration with a beaded knop junction to bowl with applied laurel branches. Fully marked underneath with assay marks for Christian F. Heise, (active 1904-1932), model number 178, import marks to underside of the bowl.

Diameter – 19.4 cm / 7.7 inches

Weight – 592 grams / 19.03 ozt

A rare model, 178, designed by Johan Rohde (1856-1935) in 1915.
