The cabinet of typical rectangular shape, resting on four stepped square feet, featuring six rectangular drawers of different sizes and a central projecting niche with cut-out cusped arches on the sides, at the top a dark wood balustrade, the front and sides featuring elegant marquetry decoration of bone, ivory, metal, and different coloured wood tesserae arranged in Hispano-Moresque geometric and stellar motifs inspired by the complex Andalusian inlays known as taracea granadina, the cabinet 79.5cm x 78.2cm x 35.5cm; resting on a rectangular stand with dark wood ringed legs, the tabletop mostly plain except for a frieze of interlocking cusped cartouches in-filled with octagonal stellar roundels and repeating geometric motifs running around the three external sides, the stand 76cm x 89cm x 45cm, 157.5cm x 89cm x 45cm including the cabinet.

This lot contains ivory and has been registered as exempt in the UK in accordance with the UK Ivory Act 2018.
