A Group of Unique 'Out-Takes' From A Personal 3D Shoot with Salvador Dalí.

Comprising cut sections from several different Kodachrome 35mm slide films, some showing Dali in relaxed mood but still playing up to the camera, even though they are thought to be private holiday photos. The transparencies come from the remains of 3 different Kodachrome 35mm slide films, with around 70 individual frames in total and of those around 37 feature Dalí himself. These were shot on a 7-perferation stereo camera with each frame 30mm x 24mm, probably with a Verascope F40 (the Rolls Royce of stereo cameras) format.

Many of the images were taken in and around Dalí's house in Port Lligat (now The Salvador Dali House Museum) including the garden and views from there. It includes shots of Caesar, Dalí's famous stuffed Polar bear which Dalí used as a stick-stand.

Some stereo pairs remain un-cut, others are as single frames but it is possible to re-assemble several of these into unique, viewable 3D images.

The photographer was thought to be Ivor Goddard who was married to Jacqueline Barsotti who, in the 1930s was the muse of Man Ray and involved in the European arts scene (she knew Picasso, Matisse and Dali). These images date from a later period and it is probable that Jacqueline is in one of the stereo pairs with Dali

The films also include photographs taken in and around Osborne House, Isle of Wight. It is known that Jacqueline Barsotti lived in her retirement on the Isle of Wight and is where she died in 2003.
