A 19TH CENTURY AUSTRIAN (VIENNESE) GRAND SONNERIE MUSICAL CLOCK WITH AUTOMATA CIRCA 1840, the mahogany portico type case with alabaster columns and with ormolu mounts of stars, grapes and vines leaves, the shaped base with mounts depicting Ariadne and the Panther, with an arch above painted with a hunting scene, the dial flanked by a pair of giltwood lions, the gilt brass dial with two painted metal moving figures of putti, the first hitting an anvil with a hammer, the second working a lathe with his foot which moves up and down, enclosed by the white enamelled dial with Roman numerals, the triple train quarter striking movement with silk suspension and sunburst mask pendulum, striking one gong for the quarters, once at quarter past, twice for half past, three times for quarter to and four times on the hour, whilst activating the cherub that strikes the anvil, and then the second gong for the number of hours at each quarter which activates the cherub with the lathe, also attached to the musical movement in the base of the clock, mounted in a glazed display case,
