Stereoscopic viewer 'Le Taxiphote' and slides, railway interest
LE TAXIPHOTE STEREO-CLASSEUR, DISTRIBUTEUR AUTOMATIQUE / BREVETE S.G.D.G' made by Jules Richard, c.1920s, complete with a selection of glass stereo positive slides by Verascope Richard (Jules Richard,1848-1930), c. 1890-1900, subjects include the construction and railway sites, bridges and station in South America, especially Brazil, locations include Porto Maua (Bay Guanabara) and Raiz da Serra. Stereoscopic viewer size, 490 x 280 x 280mm, wood, metal and glass, with a plaque underneath the peepholes with the name of the stereoscopic viewer model and the licence S.G.D.G., another plaque in French explaining the mode of operation, glass stereo positive slides (163) size, 45 x 107 mm, handwritten title and number, typed publisher name.
