A late 20^th century Persian (Iranian) silver fruit dish or charger, Tabriz dated 1998 retailed by Vartan

Post-Pahlavi. Of dished shaped circular form with a pierced rim of scrolling forms. The centre with an engraved ghalam zani decoration of two Huma birds attacking a stag, with foliate scrolls below. The outer edge with interwoven geometric panel surmounted by endless knots and foliate scrolls, the outer edge with nightingales amidst dense foliage with four vacant cartouches. Signed and dated 1998 to the edge of centre, stamped VARTAN.
