A CHINESE SOAPSTONE 'MAGNOLIA' TEAPOT AND COVER AND A SOAPSTONE 'GRAPEVINE' CUP AND COVER.
Early Qing Dynasty.
The teapot with an ovoid body carved with large flower heads and foliage, the spout, handle and finial formed as branches, the stone of iron-red colour with white inclusions, the cup and cover decorated with clusters of grapes, foliage and tendrils against a dense pattern of waves, the stone of buff colour with yellow and russet mottling, 12.5cm H. (4)
