Contemporary half calf, with white paper triangle to upper board (worn, corners bumped, joints cracked). Provenance: John Frederic Foster (armorial bookplate and name engraved to front endpaper, list of titles on FEP in foster's hand, also dated inscriptions to a number of the pieces as '1818'). John Frederic(k) foster was of the Bogue Estates, Jamaica, and of Kempstone Beds.. armorial crest depicts an arm, in armour, with a tilting spear in hand.
