Formed with a foliate rim enclosing an eight-pointed star-shaped mould, the exterior painted with a kaleidoscope of butterflies above a lime-green cracked-ice ground dotted with gilt-painted flowerheads

NOTE:
Whilst commonplace in Europe, pudding moulds are a rare form in Chinese export art. A pair of blue and white moulds dated to the early Qianlong Period, also formed with an eight-pointed star and foliate rim, were sold at Christie's South Kensington, 17 Nov 2015, lot 1563 (hammer price £4,750)
