ROYAL NAVY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD OF G.O. HEWETT, the fullered steel blade etched with scrolls, crowned anchor and Royal Coat of Arms, the brass guard with folding lug inscribed 'G.O. Hewett, R.N.', over wire bound chagrin grip and lion's head pommel, retaining tassel, with brass mounted leather scabbard (this damaged)

Dimensions: blade 80.5cm long, the sword 94cm long

Note: Whilst the identity of G.O. Hewett cannot be confirmed, one candidate could be George Osborne Hewett (1884-?), a recipient of the D.S.O.
More information Hewett can be gleaned online through the Dreadnought Project. He served during WWI and II.
