A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver three-piece tea service, Lucknow circa 1890
Raj period, comprising a teapot, milk jug and a sugar bowl. Coriander flower pattern, each with flat chased decoration below a palmette border, the base underside with a band of stylised leaves. The collet foot of the milk jug with engraved trailing ferns. The teapot with a curved spout opposite a chased scroll handle with cobra head terminals, leading to a hinged domed lid surmounted by a chased model of an elephant wearing a howdah cloth. The milk jug with a similar serpent handle, the milk and sugar with a gilt interior. (3)
