Sir James Martin, Captain Valentine Baker founded Martin-Baker Aircraft Co. Ltd. in 1934. The company began as an aircraft maker before becoming a pioneer in the field of ejector seats. Since the first live ejection test in 1945, the company claim that 7,613 lives have been saved by ejector seats and the company supply ejection seats for 93 air forces worldwide.
