A Handmade 5x4 / 7x5 Field Camera Outfit by Herb Quick.

Wooden camera with black anodized aluminum hardware. Fully functional with minor aging, movements lock tight, and are smooth to operate. Chamonix-style setup and focus operation. Double extension rail for long bellows extension. Five standard matching wooden lensboards, and one sunken lensboard. Magnetized back, installed in camera, and two backs for 5x7 and 4x5. New, lined fresnel Beedee screen in 5x4 universal back. Compendium flip-up bellows lens shade.

The camera was designed and built by Herbert Quick, Senior Photographer in the Department of Photographic Services at the University of California at Riverside.

One of his field cameras is housed at the California Museum of Photography in Riverside where his collection of photographs are in the museum's permanent collection. Herb was also an adjust professor at the University teaching classes in large-format photography and the zone-system.

Herb was a charter member of Aperture and the Friends of Photography in Carmel and a friend of Ansel Adams, Max Yavno, Al Weber, Pirkle Jones and many other important photographers based in California.
