CRICKET CANE. A wooden cane, the head modelled in the form of a hand holding a cricket ball, the other end tipped in metal, 970mm. in length [19th-century]. "This cane came from a sale of Trevor Vennett-Smith's at Gotham. The cane may come from Guyana, part of the cricketing West Indies, and yet a South American country. This cane has a lovely beguiling elegance. What is the wood?" (H.B.).
