A MEISSEN HAUSMALER SAUCER, the porcelain circa 1725, the decoration circa 1740, decorated in the manner of Johann Friedrich Metzsch of Bayreuth, depicting a Bacchic scene in puce, within an oval gilt and foliate cartouche, surmounted by a basket of fruit and flowers with a bird perched on top, a mask pendant below flanked by stylised sprays of fruit and flowers, the rim with a formal border and gilt edge, 12.7cm diameter, incised / to the inside of the footrim PROVENANCE: Private German collection.
