Stock certificate for 10 shares in the Philadelphia Traction Company, signed by Titanic passenger ('Geo. D. Widener') in his capacity as president, cancellation stamp and dockets, light yellowing and soiling, otherwise in very good condition, 185 x 273mm.

***George Dunton Widener (June 16, 1861 – April 15, 1912) was an American businessman who wa stravelling on the Titanic with his wife and son. Once the ship struck the iceberg, he managed to place his wife and her maid in a lifeboat. The women were then rescued by the steamship R.N.S. Carpathia, but Widener and his son perished on the Titanic.
