THREE PERSIAN POTTERY TILES
Iran, 13th - 14th century
Comprising a large relief moulded tile, of rectangular shape, painted in cobalt blue, red and yellow, decorated with a central medallion with vegetal arabesque and scrolling vine design, 23.5cm x 36.5cm; another smaller moulded tile, painted in copper lustre and gold against a dark cobalt blue background (lajvardina), featuring a central raised rosette surrounded by vegetal and floral sprays, 14cm at widest points; and a copper lustre-painted architectural tile of hexagonal shape, with a central geometric star pattern and stylised scrollwork in the negative spaces, 7cm.
