A VERY FINE PART SILK QUM RUG, CENTRAL PERSIA approx: 6ft.11in. x 4ft.4in.(211cm. x 140cm.) The field with Moharramat design of vertical multicoloured bands containing various floral sprays. In light blue border of polychrome rose bouquets and small floral sprays between triple meandering floral vine and barber-pole stripes. This rug has good pile of soft wool and silk and is in very good condition. Very finely woven piece. approx: 8 x 9 knots per sq.cm, woven on silk warps. Selvages rebound, well done and very well blended. Ends with short fringes which are frying in parts. Very elegant and attractive rug.
