A KOREAN BLUE-GLAZED 'SQUIRREL' WATER DROPPER

19th/20th Century

Modelled as a squirrel perched atop a hexagonal-form barrel,

7.5cm long

Note: The water dropper was one of many important utensils found in a sarang-bang, a Korean scholar’s study room. The dropper is used to add water in small drips to an inkstone whilst grinding an ink stick.
