opaque pigments, ink and gold on ivory, the rectangular ivory panels painted on both sides, scenes of moral teachings, repentance and meditation on one side, the latter with erotic scenes and orgies in the wilderness, illustrating examples of multi-gender and multi-generational sex, the human behaviour mirrored by the animals in the compositions, set within golden and black rules, each 10.5cm x 7.5cm, Iran, late 19th - early 20th century.
