English-born, Adam Neate is a conceptual artist recognised for his multi-layered collages and his inventive use of mark-making and perspective. Pablo Picasso, Francis Bacon, Carl Jung, and Alan Watts are among the artists who influenced Neate. His style combines constructivism, street art, and a highly individualistic approach to figurative painting.

Neate's skilful layer juxtaposition and use of a wide range of materials often give his figurative paintings a multi-dimensional aspect that shifts depending on the perspective of the viewer. Art historian Ben Jones wrote this in 2012: "To get the full multi-dimensional effect, the viewer is asked to activate their own viewing space ... as you move and change vantage point, negative space is held in balance, unleashed, then restrained again. The image resolves itself."
