Tiago has always had a strong passion for Asian Art and comes from a very multicultural upbringing. Having obtained a BA in Chinese and Japanese studies at the University of Leeds, he was able to combine his love of languages with art and culture. 

Since then he has been actively involved in the Asian Art scene both domestically and internationally, and has a good understanding of the market globally. An active member of various Asian Art societies, including the Oriental Ceramics Society and the Society for Japanese Art.

Prior to joing Chiswick, Tiago spent 7 years at Sotheby's spending time in both the Valuations Department and the Chinese Works of Art Department. Over the years, he has participated on many major projects, proposals and valuations, dealing with some of the most sought after collections from around the world.

Tiago has an extensive knowledge of Chinese Works of Art, coupled with fluency in Mandarin Chinese and strong cultural understanding. His particular areas of interest are ceramics, textiles, lacquer, furniture and scholarly items.
