Prior to joining the Paintings and Fine Art Department in July 2021, Emma obtained an MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, following a BA in History from the University of Exeter. During and after her studies, she worked as a studio assistant to a sculpture artist and a gallery assistant in the art collection of the Duke of Wellington, as well as an art history researcher for fashion house Vivienne Westwood. Emma has a great interest in the interchange between economy and materiality that underpins the art market and a particular interest in the Old Masters.
