Next week is a two sale week, with Antiquities and Tribal Art on Tuesday 29th September starting at 11am
and Printed Books and Manuscripts on Wednesday 30th September starting at 1pm.
The Antiquities and Tribal Art sale will feature a selection of rare and interesting items of African, Pre-Columbian and Oceanian art.
The sale will include the collection of the late sculptor Michael Michaeledes (1923-2015). Mainly formed between the 1950s - 1970s it includes pieces of ancient art from his motherland Cyprus. An example is an outstanding Cypriot Limestone Figure of a Male Worshipper, 33cm high, from the 6th Century B.C., estimate £1,000 - £1,500 (lot 96) and a large Cypriot Base Ring Ware Jug, estimate £1,500 - £2,000 (lot 91).

The Printed Books and Manuscripts auction (Wednesday 30th September) is set to be the most eclectic and unusual sale of this kind, in terms of the variety and rarity of contents, ever held at Chiswick Auctions.
Of particular interest is a second edition Wuthering Heights, 1851 (lot 255), estimate £800 - £1,000.
Along with a selection of items by Andy Warhol including pop-up plates and illustrated boards, one of which is signed by Warhol (lot 229). Estimate: £2,500 - £3,000

This week, we held a successful 20th Century and Contemporary Art sale. Paintings performed well with this piece, Shafic (Chafic) Abboud Alaba 1926-2004, ‘Le Parc Montsouris’, achieving £25,200 incl Buyer's Premium.
From the furniture offering, this Alvar Alto 1930's birch desk sold for £1,920 incl Buyer's Premium.
