Possibly Kashmir, Northern India, late 19th century

Opaque pigments and ink heightened with gold on paper, comprising two loose illustrated folios each one enhanced with Shaivite iconography, in the first Shiva with his consort, Parvati seated on a tiger skin that's lying on a lotus throne, the recto with 6ll. of black ink Devanagari script, 8cm x 14.6cm; the second a depiction of Sadashiva, the Supreme Being, a five-headed form of the God, 17.4cm x 11.6cm.
