Medieval Leaves.-

2 conjoint manuscript paper leaves, brown ink with small red and blue initials, from a psalter book, contains parts of Psalms (39 & 40, 48 & 49), vulgate numeration, with antiphons and chants in red, Gothic--textualis quadrata letter, single column, 22 lines, browning and soiling, 4to [written area c.160x130mm], possibly French, loosely inserted in slightly later vellum wrappers featuring manuscript verses or chants in brown and red ink, soiled, stained and torn, with another similar leaf, folded and torn, some staining, browned on verso, folio [c.310x175mm], c. XIII-XIV century (2)

Provenance. Used as early lining paper.
