A FINE ANTIQUE KASHAN DABIR CARPET, CENTRAL PERSIA

The light beige field with overall design of stylised multicoloured flowering arabesque and flowering vases, surrounded delicate floral and leafy meander. In sang-de-boeuf border of polychrome palmettes, arabesques and floral meander, between light blue rust and beige floral and arabesque stripes. Outer barber-pole and plain stripes, approx: 333cm. x 262cm. A very good type, seldom found in carpet size. Very nicely drawn design and colour combination. This carpet has slight wear on the field down to knot collar, otherwise good pile. Very soft kurk wool quality. Selvages original with touches of very light wear on cord. Both ends with short original kilim and fringes. Fine weave approx: 7 x 7knots per sq.cm. In general this carpet is in very good usable condition. Very attractive and great furnishing piece.
