Queen Victoria on Holiday in Grasse, 1891, and a Group of Royal Cartes

A pair of albumen print cabinet cards, each overall measuring 21 x 15cm [and the reverse], depicting Queen Victoria in her carriage while on holiday in Grasse, the horizontal study with Busin Studio credits lower margin, each with pencil inscriptions verso, noting Maid of Honour Marie Mallet and Princess Beatrice as additional subjects in the vertical study.

Together with a group of 13 albumen print cartes-de-visite, each measuring 10.5 x 6cm. Subjects and studios include Queen Victoria at her spinning wheel by Hills & Saunders, 1865; an uncredited portrait of Queen Victoria 1862 [attr. Ghemar Freres]; a reproduction portrait of Queen Victoria in robes by the London Photographic Company; a portrait of Queen Victoria and her dog by W & D Downey; Prince Albert by Mayall; two portraits of the Prince of Wales [King Edward VII] by Mayall and Hills & Saunders; two portraits of the Princess of Wales by Hills & Saunders and Ghemar Freres; a Wothlytype of Princess Lousise; Princess Alice by Mayall; and a pair of marriage portrait reproductions of the Prince and Princess of Wales after engravings by E Desmaisons.
