A VERY FINE PART SILK TABRIZ RUNNER, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The soft charcoal-black field with stylised fine multicoloured herati design together with three ivory and apricot cusped medallions with pendants contining similar pattern. Spandrels similar. in an ivory border of polychome turltle-palmettes and angular flowering vine between floral meander, zig-zag and plain stripes, approx: 9ft.10in. x 2ft.9in.( 299cm. x 84cm.) Good type with classic design well drawn. Good colour combination and very good furnishing size, long and narrow, sought after on the market. This runner has full pile, soft wool and silk infussion. Both ends and selasges are original. Very fine weave, approx:8 x 7 knots per sq. cm. In general this runner is in very good condition throughout. Elegant and attractive piece.
