A mid-19th century Indian colonial silver christening mug, Calcutta circa 1860 by Hamilton and Co

Of rounded baluster form upon a spreading circular foot, a double C scroll handle. The body with engraved and flat chased decoration of foliage and C scrolls reserved with a matted ground and lattice work. The front with a vacant erased cartouche. Marked to the foot rim edge, H&Co, elephant, A and tally mark.

Height – 11.6 cm / 4.55 inches

Weight – 217 grams / 6.98 ozt
