AN ANTIQUE BALOUCH RUG, NORTH-EAST PERSIA

The fox-brown field with single column of bold floral guls, flanked by half kotchak panels in a rust hooked vine frame all surrounded by multiple border of hooked palmettes and angular floral vine Outer linked arch and barber-pole stripes, approx. 5ft.10in x 3ft.7in.(178cm x109cm). Very good type with unusual design. This rug has slightly corroded black and touches of wear to the pile at few places. Very soft and lustrous wool quality. Salvages original with very small old repairs in places. ends with short fringes, secured. In general, decent usable condition.
