CONSTANTINOPLE, c.1870
A group of albumen prints (10) depicting views of Contstantinople, c.1870s. Comprising one view of the Golden Horn and Suleymaniye Mosque by Abdullah Freres measuring 230 x 280mm, and nine further albumen prints, by various photographers including Frank Mason Good, pasted recto and verso to three album pages, image sizes from 212 x 286mm (largest) to 158 x 208mm (smallest), subjects include the Golden Horn, Sea of Marmara, Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet, Alexandria Square, and others. One further view of the Pena Convent and Castle gateway pasted to one page verso.
Together with (4) smaller silver prints dated 1922 -1923, three measuring 90 x 150mm, one measuring 90 x 120mm, with titles in the negative, including Hangmans Tree Stamboul, Anatolia Music Samsoun, St Sophia Fountain, and Camel Stable, Trebizond.
