Rare Antique Charles II Provincial Sterling Silver lidded tankard by Marmaduke Best of York 1674. The impressive piece is of tapering cylindrical form, and the body is chased around the base with repousse leaf decoration. The piece is fitted with an imposing scrolling handle and the the flat lid features a raised central section, surmounted by a cast thumb piece. Height 16.5cm / 6.5”. Silver weight 780g / 25.1 troy oz.
