TWO LARGE HISPANO-MORESQUE COPPER LUSTRE-PAINTED POTTERY CHARGERS
Post-Nasrid Spain, 19th century
Each of typical hemispherical shape with a thick rim, resting on a concave base, one decorated with a centrally positioned, small stylised rooster set within a field of carnation sprays, tulip stems, and further floral decoration, all against a plain ground, outlined by two concentric bands and a further solid band of copper lustre to the rim, the back plain and glazed, 40cm diam; the other similarly decorated, with a large bird in the centre, its wings outstretched, 42cm diam.
