A Victorian sterling silver Anglo – Indian style three-piece tea service, London 1892 by Edward Hutton
Comprising a teapot, a milk jug, and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of lobed square form, the teapot with a panelled spout opposite a handle formed as an elephant’s head, the trunk wrapped around a branch, fitted with ivory insulators, the hinged stepped lid surmounted by a detachable cast finial of a coiled serpent. The milk and sugar with the same form of handles. Each with flat chased decoration of scrolling foliate forms after Kashmir silver, applied to each facet with Madras swami style figures of Vishnu upon vahana. The sugar and milk with gilt interiors. Each stamped underneath Rd No 48522. Each fully marked. (3)
