Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 1972: View: intense garnet.

Nose: aromas of cassis, spice and tar, mature and full.

Mouth: rich, full, soft and fruity, at its peak, a claret classy. (drinks&co.com) Chateau Leoville-Las Cases 'Clos du Marquis' 1995: Tasted several times this is the more feminine partner to 96. A fleshy glycerine rich nose. A well-endowed palate bursting with red fruits. The 96 Clos has more power but this elegant and involving. Superb. (Tom Cannavan, 01/2004) Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou 1967: Served blind at the Ducru offline in London, this bottle sourced direct from the chateau cellars. It has a surprisingly deep colour, in part due to the impeccable provenance. It has a delectable, minty nose with touches of Italian deli and bergamot. Wonderful definition if not vigour. The palate is showing decent weight for an off-vintage, soft and rounded in texture, the acidity sharp and perhaps a little bitter towards the finish, with a touch of rosehip on the aftertaste. A delicate Saint Julien that is fading gently over time. Bottles with guaranteed provenance might offer a few surprises! (NM) (RP, 7/2010) Connetable Talbot 2000 This Talbot 2000 Connetable is a great deal!

The vintage is of anthology, the price is hot, and this wine will soon be impossible to find!

We enjoyed it round and fruity, developing notes of blackcurrant, black fruit, grilled, chocolate... a real olfactory delight!

The mouth is spicy, with volume, reminiscent of the terroir of Saint Julien and its big brother the illustrious Talbot. (wineandco.de) Connetable Talbot 2011: Dark ruby, violet reflections, discreet rim brightening, soft fruit with a delicate leafy underlay, tobacco nuances, seems somewhat restrained. Medium-bodied, red berry, nuances of sour cherries, somewhat sparse tannins, remains somewhat dry in the finish. (Falstaff, 02/2014)
