AN ANTIQUE HERIZ CARPET, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The rust field with hooked palmettes, hooked leaves and small angular floral motifs around hooked and stepped medallion with hooked pendants. Wide ivory and rust spandrels similar. In an indigo border of stylised turtle-palmettes between sandy-yellow and rust angular floral meader stripes, approx: 319cm. x 251cm. Very good type with classic design and very good colour combination. This carpet has slight localized wear to the pile, down to knot collar in places, otherwise good pile. Ends with fringes, secured. Selvages original with localized small rebound on cord. In general this carpet is in good usable conditon. Very good furnishing piece, attractive and popular type at present market.
