First edition in book form, engraved frontispiece, vignette title page, earlier ‘Veller’ on sign on engraved title, 41 plates, the two by R. W. Buss replaced by the later versions by Phiz, significant browning and offsetting to plates, lacking half-title, two of Smith’s seven first issue points to text including p.342 with 'S Veller', later 19th century gift inscription to F. G. Coward on front flyleaf, 19th century half calf gilt, worn, [Smith I:3], Chapman and Hall, 1837 § Little Dorrit, First edition, first issue, bound from the parts, three line errata, 40 illustrations by Hablot K. Browne including frontispiece, vignette title-page and the eight dark plates, intermittent foxing and staining, [Smith I:12], contemporary half calf, spine gilt with morocco title label, rubbed, Bradbury and Evans, 1857; with a copy of Dombey and Son, 8vo (3)
