Sketch book featuring 28 unsigned sketches, mostly pen and ink or pencil portrait studies, a couple of human figures in red crayon and on loosely inserted pages, each leaf stamped ' Studio of Uli Nimptsch (1897-1977) on reverse, some handling wear and yellowing, soiling to light blue boards, 370 x 255 mm, c. 1960s

***Uli Nimptsch (1897-1977) was best known as a sculptor of the human form in bronze. He was born in Berlin and studied at the Applied Art School in Berlin before travelling and studying in Rome, Paris and London. He has had a solo exhibition at the Redfern Gallery in 1942 and retrospective exhibitions at Temple Newsam and in Liverpool. He was a member of the RA and the RBA.
