A George III sterling silver nutmeg grater, London 1794 possibly by Susanna Barker

Of oval form with a gently domed hinged lid. The lid with an engraved cartouche with initials SS in cursive script reserved with foliate scrolls and drapery. The sides with floral pendant swags. The interior with a base metal grating rasp, hinged lower section. Fully marked to interior of lid, lion passant to side and lid.
