Travel Album, c.1860s-1880s

An album of 46 albumen prints, image sizes 25.5 x 20.5cm (smallest) to 23.4 x 29cm, comprising: 16 hand-coloured prints by Usui Shusaburo Studio, depicting various views of Nikko, Imaichi, Chiusenji, Hakone, each numbered and captioned in the negative; 18 prints by Samuel Bourne and Bourne & Shepherd, depicting views of famous landmarks across Delhi, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Kanpur, each signed and numbered in the negative; 4 prints by Giorgio Brogi, depicting the Bargello Palace, Friars in a cloister, details of a sculpture by Donatello, and a ceramic relief by Luca della Robbia, among others.
Together with 21 loose albumen prints and one silver gelatin print, image sizes 14.5 x 9.7cm (smallest) to 19.5 x 23.8cm (largest), depicting views of Florence by Giorgio Brogi, numbered and captioned in the negative; and Alpine views, some captioned in the negative, and with Alois Beer Studio's stamp on verso. Housed in white leather boards, with gilt decoration.
