A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH TERRACOTTA GROUP OF TWO CHAMPANZEES 'PIGNOUF' the comical scene depicting a seated monkey dressed in a pharaoh's type headdress and seated on a classical style day bed, holding tail of the standing monkey beside him, on an integral base inscribed 'Pppignouf!' and signed indistinctly to the right side 'L.D.Molds', 13cm high x 15cm wide The term Pignouf refers to a boorish, coarse man.
