The indigo field with delicate scrolling floral and leafy vine together with serrated palmettes around cusped ivory arabesque medallion with pendants containing rosette panel centrepiece. Light blue spandrels similar. In an ivory border of palmettes and arabesques between floral and plain stripes, approx, 214cm. x 120cm. Well drawn design and good colour combination. This rug has full pile, very soft wool quality. Very small spit at one end, repaired, well done. Both selvages rebound also well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general this rug is in very good usable condittion throughout. Fine weave, approx: 7 x 7 knots per sq. cm. Attractive and elegant piece.
