A VERY FINE AND UNUSUAL PART SILK TABRIZ RUNNER, NORTH-WEST PERSIA

The field with ivory and light rust vertical columns containing multicoloured herati design. In light rust border of stylised polychrome turtle-palmettes, rosettes and florwering vine between floral meander, zig-zag and plain stripes, approx: 11ft.4in. x 2ft.9in.(344cm. x 84cm.) Very nicely drawn design, unusual for this type. Good colour combination and very good furnishing size, long and narrow, sought after at present market. This runner has full pile of fine wool quality with silk infussion. Both ends and selvages original. Very fine weave, approx: 9 x 8 knots per sq.cm. In general this runner is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive and elegant piece.
