A 12TH CENTURY PERSIAN SELJUQ JUG WITH SILVER AND COPPER INLAY DEPICTING BIRDS

A jug with copper inlay, Seljug Persia, 12th century

Of faceted globular piriform with band of kufic calligraphy, floral roundels alternating with roundels depicting birds resting on a flared pedestal foot. Lid surmounted with a trio of birds on finial. 28cm high
