A rare album of 20 albumen prints with round corners, image size 16.5 x20cm (or the reverse), pasted down onto recto/verso onto album pages, overall measuring 23 x31cm, each with printed gilt caption on margins [Russian] comprising views and scenes in the region of Vladikavkaz; views of the Tamara Fortress; Ossetian dancers; Mt Kazbek; various staging posts along the Georgian Military Road; and a view of the Adarskiy Glacier, formed by two joined prints, overall measuring 25.5 x19.5cm; among others. Titled in gilt lettering on the title page, Album of Views of the Georgian Military Road. Vladikavkaz: Rudnev Brothers [Russian].
Housed in original brown pebble-grained cloth, with printed gilt title on front cover.
