AN ANTIQUE MAHAL KELLEH, WEST PERSIA

The shaded light rust field with overal design of angular floral and leafy vine linking polychrome palmettes and stylised panles. In an indigo border of bold serrated palmettes, angular floral and leafy vine between ivory flowering vine and plain stripes, approx: 310cm. x 170cm. Very good type with very nice overall design, seldom found in the sales. This carpet has slight localized wear to the top pile, barely visible, otherwised good pile. Ends with kilim and fringes, slightly fraying in one corner at one end. Selvages rebound, with touches of fraying on cord in few small places. In general this carpet is in very good usable conndition. Very good example for this type. Great furnishing piece.
