A pair of George II sterling silver dwarf or library desk candlesticks, London 1756 by John Perry (first reg. 23rd March 1757)
The bases of shaped and incurved square form with splayed shell corners, the central column with circular knops and a shaped square knop below a plain capital. Corded edges. Each with a removable shaped square sconce with shell corners. Each engraved with a contemporaneous coat of arms with a foliate cartouche to the bases. Each engraved underneath with scratch weight 23-14. Each fully marked underneath, the sconces with maker’s mark and lion passant only. (2)
