AN EXTREMELY FINE SILK HEREKE PRAYER RUG, TURKEY AND TIBETAN RUG

Approx; 114cm. x 68cm. and 160cm. x 84cm. Hereke rug has very good colour combination and well drawn motifs. Apart of tiny wear in one or two very small places on cord edge, this rug has full pile, fine and lustrous silk. Extremely fine weave approx: 10 x 10 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim and short fringes. Signature cartouche at one end. In general this rug is in very good usable condition. Very attractive piece. Tibetan rug, a example for this type with simiplicity of design and unusual colours. This rug has slight localized wear to the pile, down to knot collar in few places. Tiny hole in one corner. Selvages slighty fraying. Ends with short fringes also touches of fraying. In general this rug is in decent usable condition.
