A FINE TUKISH RUG OF CAUCASIAN DESIGN

The ivory field with diagonal rows of polychrome hooked palmettes together with angular serrated leaf vine linking small square panels. In deep blue border border of stylised multicoloured crab-rosette between green and rust arrow-head stripes. Outer barber-pole and plain stripes, approx: 6ft.5in. x 4ft.5in.(196cm. x 135cm.). Very nicely drawn design more associated with east Caucasian weaving. Good colour combination. Apart of tiny dot like wear at one end, barely visible, this rug has very good pile. Original ends with short striped kilim and fringes. Selvages original. In general this rug is in very good condition throughtout. Very good furnishing piece.
